Who are Altern?
Altern Limited is a Maltese company working in the Sustainability and Alternative Energy Sector, with the target market being the industrial and commercial sector. Since its set up in 2008, the company’s goal has been to promote cost effective solutions that can be easily implemented, leading to immediate improvements in ones dependency on conventional sources of energy.
What do they do?
In the past years, Altern has been invovled in a number of unique projects within the areas of:
- Energy Auditing, namely some of the largest enterprises in Malta • Energy Management
- Battery Storage
- Co-generation Systems
- Solar Energy, including the design and implementation of large-scale Photovoltaic plants
- LED Lighting, including the research, development, design and implementation of customized LED lighting within buildings and sport facilities in Malta and Germany
- Additionally, Altern, together with its partners, develops and manufactures LED lighting locally, giving the possibility to custom build lighting units based on the specific client needs.
A dynamic team
The Altern Team is made up of engineers, technicians, and installers, all with extensive experience in the subject. The team is relatively young with a strong technical background, ensuring a dynamic, yet sound, mindset. They want you
Altern is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join its team. The ideal candidate should be in possession of an Electrical Engineering Degree from the University of Malta or equivalent university.
What will you do
The successful applicant will be involved in:
- Supporting the Engineering and Installation team in the design, building, testing and commissioning of PV and LED systems
- Support the Energy Management team on Energy Auditing, Energy Management and report compilation
- Designing, Monitoring and Testing of systems as per engineering standards
- Full training on all fields that will be worked upon shall be provided, along with guidance throughout the first months.
What are they looking for
All applicants are expected to have:
- A clean driving licence
- A good technical & academic background
- Good experience in the use of engineering softwares
- High motivation and capability of working on own initiative and with minimum supervision.
- The capability of undertaking the completion of projects.
- Good Project Management skills both off and on site
- Ability to work in a team and leading people
- Hands on experience is considered as an asset
