Earlier this afternoon Kunsill Studenti Universitarji (KSU) published a Facebook post expressing its disappointment at the disrespect of some students who have either been damaging or littering the recently refurbished night time study area facility. Other key points mentioned include finding a damaged television screen, the tearing up of 10 KSU Annual General Meeting reports, as well as leaving the bathrooms in a pitiful state.
In its post, KSU warns that the KSU Night Time Study Area may be suspended should this behaviour persist.
The post published by KSU may be found below:
We are extremely disappointed by how the facilities offered by KSU are being disrespected by a number of individuals. Despite the KSU Tipico Careers Common Room being inaugurated just over a month and a half ago, the state of the room is already pitiful.
All new chairs installed have been somehow damaged and/or stained, multiple scratches can be found on the large white table, the parquet flooring is also scratched all over and showcases numerous coffee stains. Moreover, cats have been introduced into the room despite being told otherwise and what fascinates us the most is that a PERMANENT marker was used on the white board.
Complaints have also been put forward by cleaners. Just this morning, a total of SEVEN garbage bags were collected from litter being left behind on tables or on the floor, despite the room being equipped with six bins. Some individuals also found it fun to tear up ten KSU AGM reports and spread the remains all over the room. The bathrooms were also found to be in a pitiful state, with numerous sanitary towels found on the floor.
All this, together with the cracked TV screen last week has truly upset the council. Unless in the coming days a drastic change in behaviour is observed, we will have no choice but to suspend the night time study area indefinitely.
