#tdm10Challenge Launch

As correctly introduced by Mr Ducan, who has seen Terra Di Mezzo (TDM) 2000 Malta flourish over the past ten years, the aforementioned organisation is “a medium to be active and participate in society”. It strives to increase active youth participation. This is also reflected in the organisation’s motto.

Terra Di Mezzo (TDM) 2000 is an international organisation that finds its origins in Sicily. The goals of the organisation include increasing active youth participation on a local and international level, local events and charity. The latter is what has inspired TDM 2000 Malta to embark on a new project, the #tdm10Challenge.

The wisely selected name is a reflection of two things. Firstly, TDM2000 Malta will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, after being founded in 2005. That year saw the organisation dedicate much work on the gym of ’Dar tal-Providenza’. Other charitable projects included ’Reach for the Stars’ and ’Terra Della Musica’. Ten is also a significant number as #tdm10Challenge is an attempt to collect €10,000 in aid of charitable beneficiaries.

Three beneficiaries will be equally benefitting from this project. These are Hospice Malta, which provides care for terminally ill patients including equipment and bereavement facilities amongst other services at no charge, Angela house, which is home to many children, and St Joseph House.

Activities will be held in order to raise the desired figure. These will promote youth participation and solidarity. One of the upcoming activities is TDM’s Mothers’ Day Home Made Treat Sale, which will be held on Friday the 9th of May between 9am and 3pm. Let us think of the words spoken by a sister from Angela House present at the launch, children in her care, along with other students and friends, will not celebrate Mothers’ Day. Let us try to make a difference.

The Third Eye would like to thank TDM 2000 Malta for its warm invitation and hospitality.
