The New President has this to say after the AGM:

” In the last couple of weeks, I have had the chance to meet, converse and discuss with the previous executive team about the essence of The Third Eye and what it meant to be a student media organization in UM. During which I have seen and experienced how much the previous executives have worked on The Third eye and what The Third Eye meant to them. I can’t help but be moved by such dedication and effort put into this passion project and how each one of them has put part of their soul into it.

I feel honored and optimistic about being given the chance and trust by the previous executives to carry on this part of their student life and we can’t wait to put our touch and soul into it. We will not shy away from continuing building on what they have already built using our own unique personalities and touch. So keep your Third Eye open for us!”

The New executive will keep on growing as there are still vacancies waiting to be filled !

The new Executive Board is eager to get to work and implement their own ideas within the organization!

Following the Annual General Meeting held on the 10th of July at the University of Malta Lecture Centre, the executive board for JEF Malta has been elected.

Meet the new team:

The Third Eye got in touch with the current President, Andrew Micallef and former President, Emma Vella, to get their comments on the new and previous term.

I am humbled to have been chosen to lead JEF Malta as President for this term. The past year and a half have been a huge challenge for all student organisations, but despite everything, we at JEF Malta managed to adapt our work to the new reality we faced. I look forward to lead such a fantastic team of talented individuals towards relaunching our projects, events and activities for this year. We want to especially focus on revitalising the social and political debate by bringing young people and policymakers together, especially as we emerge from the pandemic. Most of all though, JEF Malta remains committed to its main aim of working towards a more united and democratic Europe.

Andrew Micallef, JEF Malta President

Even though this past year proved to be challenging due to the pandemic, JEF Malta was still able to further the cause of European integration and federalism through its hard-working executive. I wish the best of luck to the newly elected executive, I am sure they will take JEF Malta to a whole new level and make themselves and past alumni very proud.

Emma Vella, Former JEF Malta President

The Third Eye wishes the best of luck to the new team! We look forward to continue working with this ever-growing organisation.

Following the online Annual General meeting held on the 21st of May, the new Executive Board for USPA has been announced.

Meet the fresh faces of the new team:

Newly elected USPA Executive (Starting from the left: Marelaine Formosa, Daniel Hintner, Kaylie Magri, André Buhagiar and Kristen Abela)

The Third Eye got in touch with the current President, Marelaine Formosa, and former President, Zofia Stelmaszczyk, to get their comments on the new and previous term.

I am beyond honoured to have been given the opportunity to be President of USPA and cannot wait to proceed on the previous Executive Board’s work as well as produce fresh work with an amazing team by my side. We are aiming to grow the organisation further, whilst giving a voice to artists, as well as making the students’ University experience one to remember.

Marelaine Formosa, USPA President

Stelmaszczyk talks about how USPA left such an impact on her life.

USPA has been one of the most important elements in my time at the university. It gave me confidence, a sense of belonging, wonderful friends for life, skills and knowledge about the arts sector, as well as Maltese culture. And most importantly, it became a source of great pride and thankfulness.

I had the honour to lead two great, hard-working teams. And I am so proud of what we’ve achieved and the USPA community we were trusted to represent. I wish all the best to the next Executive Board – I can’t wait to see where USPA goes next!

Zofia Stelmaszczyk, former USPA President

The Third Eye wishes the best of luck to the team!
