Students remain without results with resits to start in less than 3 weeks

The main deadline for the results of Semester 2 to be published was reportedly 5th August, as had been officially detailed by the Registrar. It has been arguably unclear by which dates students should expect their results. However, KSU officials that have been in touch with the University Administration have confirmed that whichever deadlines that were ever in place have not been adhered to.

At the time of writing, it is known that students from the following faculties have not yet received all (or in some cases any of) their results, including but not limited to:

  • Faculty of Built Environment
  • Faculty of Medicine (including both medicine and pharmacy students)
  • Faculty of Laws
  • Faculty of Science (specifically medical biochemistry students)

KSU has confirmed that they are in fact working on handling the situation and have been in constant contact with the Dean, UM Central Administration, as well as the concerned Faculties specifically.

We’ve been down to the Faculties concerned in person on multiple occasions this week

Other sources have also suggested that the delay in the results may not necessarily be due to the Faculty’s inefficiency, but more so the examiners’ in most cases.

This issue of late results is definitely not a new one and persists to be a cause for lament by many students as August rolls over. Students have posted about their frustration to no avail.

The allocated period for resit examinations to be held is the 1st-15th September. So, it is quite unnerving that students have yet to know if they will have to resit for a specific unit within just over 3 weeks time. Moreover, students wanting to apply for a revision of paper will probably not receive their updated results in time and would have to do the resit examination nonetheless.
