Students Outraged As Faculty Changes Exams From Online To In-Person

Students in the Faculty of Economics, Management, and Accountancy have taken to social media to express their dissatisfaction with their faculty.

Students were informed that their exams would be held online, as they had been taking classes online for the previous two years. However, as of today, December 16, 2021, students have been informed that exams will be held in person.

The students were perplexed and outraged because they had been told numerous times that exams would be held online. Their outrage is heightened by the fact that if a student is in quarantine on the day of the exam, they will be required to retake the exam in September, effectively eliminating the opportunity for students to retake the exam if they fail the first time.

Multiple students, such as David Rizzo, have taken to social media websites to voice their concerns and beg the faculty to re-think their decision.

Furthermore, students in their final year of study will be left in the dark about whether or not they will be able to graduate with the rest of their classmates.

By refusing to give a practical option with regards to quarantine, the majority of students will prefer attending physical exams whilst sick rather than having to do them in September!!

ASCS Comment

The student organisation for the faculty, ASCS, released their own statement on their social media channels

ASCS are aware of all FEMA students’ concerns regarding the upcoming examination period and for the past week have been continuously working hand in hand with the Faculty on the situation.

We strongly believe that only by working closely with the faculty can a favourable solution for all students be found.

As it stands, the go ahead to hold examinations physically on Campus was given by the Health Authorities themselves.
