SDM’s Snejana Balzan and Matthew Borg for Junior College Board Elections

Now that the KSJC Election fever has winded down, Junior College students are being asked to cast their vote once again, this time in a less frequent and heated election; the Junior College Board Elections. The last elected student members of the executive board were Jake Scerri and Mauro Sultana, that were both contesting for SDM.

Snejana Balzan: “As a Junior College first year student I am eagerly contesting my first election for the College Student Board. The board’s main aim is to create contact between the students and the collage administration. I am ready to be this bridge between the two. Dedication is the key for this work and I am prepared to work with the rest of the board for the students’ voice to be heard and be the centre of the discussions. Snejana I am fully aware that this role carries such responsibilities to achieve its aims but with great passion for such work I am willing to contest for such a role. If the students put there preference to my devotion, I am fully aware that I shall be able to achieve in my good manner their rights to be heard.”

Matthew Borg: “My aim as a Junior College student is to improve both the experience of students during their studies in the college, and the college itself. Student activism has always been the peek of my interest, therefore representing students in the college board would be a role which I would definitely love to do. As time flies by, opportunities will always arise and the college board is an example of such opportunities. I will guarantee all students out there that I will work tirelessly to maintain a good relationship with the students and the administration. Due to the fact that this role in the board lasts two years, a first year student would be more ideal rather than a second year students since he/she would be actually in touch with the college students. In conclusion, together with Snejana, I am ready to serve and work for the upcoming 2 years in favour of all the students to leave a better Junior College.”

Junior College students can vote for these candidates 16th February in room B105 between 9:00-12:00 and 14:00-16:00. Do not forget to bring your student card or ID card.
