SDM celebrates 45 years of representation at University

Their story began back in 1974 when a group of students decided to form the first political student organisation within the University of Malta.

Throughout these forty-five years, striving to improve student life and advocate for students’ rights has been central to the organisation’s agenda.

SDM has managed to expand its representation in other institutions around Malta and Gozo over the years. Following the establishment of their main branch at University, branches at Junior College, MCAST, Sir M.A. Refalo in Gozo and ITS.

Numerous campaigns such as Think Ahead, Think 2020, Draw the line, Leave your Mark, Be a winner, Rise and ‘Our University, Tomorrow’, have been organised to showcase the social impact that SDM wants to make, not just at University but also beyond.

Through the Charity Campaigns, the infamous Project 7000 and Hope in aid of ALS, over €36,000 have been collected in a matter of 6 years, showcasing further the social impact that SDM has looked to make.

Throughout this whole year, SDM shall be organising a series of events which commemorate and celebrate all the work that has been done during these 45 years of student representation.
