SDM – Studenti Demokristjani Maltin‘s KSU Election campaign banner has been vandalised in a highly irresponsible and immature manner. Candidate President’s Carla Galea portrait has been defaced.
There are speculations that the billboard has been compromised on purpose but it is also highly possible that the damage has been caused due to the recent gale force winds around the island.
Neil Smart Costantino, current president of SDM commented regarding the permanent marks on the banner:
“It’s a pity to see this especially since such campaigns cost money, which is generated through events that we organise and dedicate so much time to. Such actions remind me about the things we are seeing happening inside the library lately, it’s high time that we increase security across campus. Of course these actions are condemnable and we hope that all organisations are respected for the work they do for the benefit of the student body”“While I understand it may have been the wind, the marker was certainly not done by the wind. Nonetheless, we look forward to a positive campaign that will be revolve around people’s ideas.”
