Less than two months away from the Spring Hunting Referendum, Studenti Demokristjani Maltin (SDM) has just released a press release stating their stand on spring hunting, whereby the organisation expresses that it is in favour of its abolishment.
In the press release, SDM clarifies that the position taken is one in favour of sustainability, as the organisation feels that spring hunting is not in furtherance of a sustainable environment.
When contacted by The Third Eye, president of SDM, Luke Muscat, explained that SDM is primarily in favour of student participation in the upcoming spring hunting referendum. Muscat added that one must also pay heed to sustainability. He stated, “one should not just think about the present, but also of future generations. If spring hunting is not done in a responsible manner, it is going to have a huge negative impact on the future environment”.
Finally, Muscat strongly appeals to students to express their opinions and to be at the heart of political decisions.
