JEF Malta’s Executive Board has undergone an internal re-shuffle during the recent EGM, with Kayrin Gauci stepping down from President of the organisation, taking the role of Financial Officer and Rebecca Zammit, taking the role of President for the remaining term of 2017/2018.
Rebecca Zammit is a European Studies student at the University of Malta and has served as an International Officer and also as Vice-President within JEF Malta. The Third Eye team contacted the newly appointed President and asked about her main aspirations for the organisation. Rebecca Zammit said that: “My vision for JEF Malta this year is to keep up the momentum that we picked up last year, and ensure that we keep raising the bar for ourselves and our events even higher. We have a lot of projects to successfully see through in the coming months, including an Erasmus+ Campaign, ’Generation Europe’, our first live-in, JEF Europe’s Congress which we will be hosting next month, and several social events. I hope to continue on the great work of my predecessors and do the role justice.”
Moreover, Christian Aquilina has now been appointed Vice-President of JEF Malta after experience within the Executive Board, having served as a Financial Officer and also as an Events Officer. Christian explains that he is thankful towards all the Executive Board members for entrusting him with the role of Vice President for the term 2017/18. He explains that he is “looking forward to working hand in hand with Rebecca Zammit during the coming term. All I can say is stay tuned as we have a lot of exciting projects in store, both academic and social.”
The rest of the Executive Board following the re-shuffle is as follows:
- Secretary-General – Jurgen Micallef
- Financial Officer – Kayrin Gauci
- International Officer – Rebecca Farrugia Xerri
- Projects Officer – Sean Portelli
- Education and Social Policy Officer – Nicola Mangion
- Civic Education Coordinator – Lara Farrugia
The Third Eye team would like to wish JEF Malta’s new Board a fruitful term.
