Pulse Subjected to Racist Comments

It is evident that some fifteen years into the 21st century, ethnic racism is still an issue in our country.

Yesterday, a Facebook post by a fourteen-year-old accused student organisation Pulse of poisoning university students because of a post about Ramadan on Pulse’s Facebook page and also due to the fact that one of the eleven candidates for the past Kunsill Studenti Universitarji (KSU) elections was Sara Ezabe, a first year law student who practices the Muslim Religion. In the post, the person also accused Pulse of betraying its own country, which he described as "tat-twerwir’ (terrifying).

However, the only terrible thing in the whole scene is that a person as young as fourteen believes that loathing other human beings because of ethnic or religious diversity is a step closer towards patriotism.

When contacted by The Third Eye, Sara Ezabe said that she would like to thank both Pulse and SDM members for the support that they show her in such situations.

“The focus of the attack was not me or the Muslim Religion, but it was Pulse, who chose me as a candidate for this year’s KSU elections,” explained nineteen-year-old law student. “There isn’t much to be said apart from the fact that I hope that both Pulse and SDM, and also other students, will always condemn such attacks,” stated Ezabe.

The Third Eye condemns racism and any other forms of discrimination that impinge upon one’s human rights.
