Anyone who has ever been through the "writing a dissertation proposal’ months knows perfectly well what a struggle it truly is. As if that is not a scary reality enough, there is the thought that the worst is indeed still on its way. Yes, I am referring to the dreaded-by-most (loved-by-some … maybe?) dissertation writing.
If you ask me, the idea of having to submit a never-ending 12 ECTS-worth document was gut wrenching since the first dissertation meeting I attended. Now closer to the submission date, I can safely vouch that it never got easier.
Luckily for many students who are still in the preliminary stages of the dissertation process (or fellow final years spending their days/nights trying to multi-task compiling a literature review whilst recruiting participants – good luck, we can do this!) SIERA is here to make this harsh reality slightly more bearable.
Presenting PROBE – with a sweet subtitle: "You ask the questions’ – this is an event anyone who wants to smash their dissertation (pun definitely intended) should attend. Writing a dissertation can be very stressful, especially since particular attention to the little nooks and crannies is a must (don’t get me started on referencing). SIERA’s research office is therefore putting up this informative session where former alumni, and students who have finished or are in the midst of writing their dissertations at present will be available to answer any questions you might have, all pertaining to writing a dissertation. Ranging from questions such as "’how do I go about choosing a title?’’ all the way to "’how do I even start to write a literature review?’’, the questions are endless!
We here at The Third Eye would therefore like to encourage students to attend this brilliant event taking place next Thursday, 30th March at 12pm (KSU Common Room). Access the following link to PROBE’s Facebook Event page for more information:
