“My Issue Shouldn’t Be an Issue” | Degabriele Will Fight for His Vote during Tomorrow’s KE Election

Edward Degabriele has responded to Scicluna’s statement regarding the allegations against him made public earlier today of being “undemocratic.”

Degabriele has clarified that he had responded to Scicluna’s email yesterday and has persisted in clearing the air regarding any “allegations” he has made. Degabriele has said that regardless of Scicluna having denied his right to vote he will be present during tomorrow’s vote because the board has said that his vote is in fact valid. If the Commissioner says otherwise, Degabriele has confirmed that he will stay there to argue.

I do not know whether I have a vote or not

Edward Degabriele, Student Representative

Degabriele has persisted that these 9 proxies should be treated as 9 individual cases. He continued:

I can’t speak for other people but I can speak for myself. I am trying to get my democratic right to vote and I haven’t broken any statute provision or bylaw. I feel offended that I’m being treated this way

He emphasised that he is fighting for his right to vote as a student representative and also shed light on what should be the actual focus of these elections; the candidates.

This whole controversy has taken away the light from the contestants who have been preoccupied with their manifestos, Degabriele said, it is a shame that they have been swept aside.

The following is Degabriele’s formal email in response to Scicluna’s statement:
