Michael Piccinino Elected as KNZ President

After a period of turmoil within the Kunsill Nazzjonali Zghazagh (KNZ), the council has finally turned over a new leaf. New  President Michael Piccinino,  is definitely a familiar face with many University students and it is precisely for this reason that things are  finally  looking up  for the council. Piccinino has gained various experience through his involvement with youth and therefore, as he said himself, he is striving to “work together with each and every one of the executive” to be able to “work closely with all our member organisations.”

The Third Eye contacted Michael Piccinino instantly after he declared on Facebook that he got elected as the KNZ new President, who gave comments to The Third Eye and also explained the roles of the new members.

Undoubtedly, the council has a difficult task  with ensuring that it  regains the trust of youth once more after all that has happened. Nonetheless, the new  executive in today’s Extraordinary  General Meeting, came across as  very keen and determined to be, what Piccinino described,  as the “truly  National Organ for youth and youth organisations in Malta.”

The outgoing and energetic Naomi Bugre is now the Vice-President of KNZ whilst Sean Ellul occupies the role of Secretary General with Graham Sansone serving as Deputy Secretary General.

Martina Camilleri is the new  Financial Officer for KNZ, Monique Agius is the PR Officer, Jasmine Farrugia is now serving as National Activities Officer, Kurt Vella is the EU Presidency Officer and Neil Smart Costantino occupies the role of International and EU Officer.

Moreover, Sara Ezabe is now the Public Policy and Youth Rights Commissioner, whilst Adrian Dominic Ellul is the Yourh Services Commissioner. On behalf of the Gozitan youth, Eman Borg is now serving as Gozo Regional Officer and William Vella is the new Gozo Liason Officer.

The Third Eye would like to congratulate the new   executive,  whilst wishing them luck for a fruitful year.
