5 years! Can you believe it? UM Rowing Club is celebrating its 5th year since its inception.
So many things have happened, and we don’t even know where to begin. If we just reminisce over this past year, the club has introduced indoor rowing training.
On top of that, they won 17,000 euros in funding! These funds were invested in a rowing gym consisting of 4 rowing machines and 2 coastal rowing boats.
But wait! They’re not done. A few days ago, the organisation hosted its Annual General Meeting and we’ve got some new faces on board.
This year’s team is made up of:
- Rebekah Caruana – who will be taking on the role as President
- Luke Frendo – who will be this year’s Vice President
- Raffaella Baldacchino – who was elected Secretary General
- Eman Borg – who has been entrusted with the role of Treasurer
- Jacob Callus – who will be this year’s KPS Officer; and lastly we have,
- Josef Pisani – who shall be occupying the role of a general member within the executive
This year’s team vows to continue working to develop even further the rowing gym. It also wishes to introduce on-water training sessions in order to establish sliding seat rowing in Malta.
We wish the newly executive great luck for their new venture!
