The University Futsal Team after two weeks of intense Trial sessions has come up with a provisional shortlist of 26 individuals who shall be part of our Pre-Season squad in the months to come. The level shown by the group of over 40 trialists who participated in this year’s sessions made our decision a highly difficult one and we would like to thank each and every trialist for their hard work in the past two weeks.
It was the club’s policy for the season 2016/7 that a stark reduction in the squad’s size was necessary to improve the team’s competitiveness and come next September we shall further reduce the squad to 20 individuals. The squad chosen is not final and will be undergoing further scrutiny until the beginning of next season. This shall be done in accordance with the Statutory provisions that declare that 75% of the squad must be current University of Malta students.
This difficult selection process is a necessary step to keep the Club relevant in the domestic scenario, and we would like to thank all those who have been involved in helping this club grow during these past 2 seasons.
The club shall be starting its Pre-Season activities on Monday the 8th of August.
