As Christmas is approaching, both Pulse and Studenti Demokristjani Maltin (SDM) are busy with their Christmas shopping for new executive members for their respective organisations.
Whilst Wayne Sammut is expected to hold Pulse’s top role, the same could not be said for Luke Muscat, who after five years of involvement in SDM, shall be bidding farewell to the organisation this Thursday. Ian Zahra, who currently holds the role of Vice-President, is expected to replace him.
This makes Neil Smart the most serious contender for SDM’s Vice-Presidency, whilst Ayrton Mifsud, who was elected as the Kunsill Studenti Junior College (KSJC)’s Education Commissioner on Pulse’s ticket in 2012, is expected to remain Pulse’s Vice-President.
On the other hand, both organisations are expected to replace their Secretary Generals. Julian Gullaimier, who currently occupies the role of Public Relations Officer within the Pulse executive board, and Gianluca Sciberras, who was SDM’s Assistant Secretary General throughout the ongoing term, will be expected to take the role of Pulse and SDM Secretary General respectively.
Whilst Joseph Masini has already announced that he will not be contesting again on his personal Facebook profile, SDM are also expected to lose some of its pieces as Steve Zammit Lupi, Leo Muscat, Gabriel Micallef, Clint Camilleri, Thomas Farrugia and Beppe Degiorgio are all expected to pull out of SDM.
When it comes to new faces, Clive Aquilina, and former KSJC President, Adam Vella, are both expected to become part of Pulse’s executive board. SDM’s new Junior College Coordinator is likely to be the outgoing KSJC President, Jake Scerri, and Luigi Fenech will probably become SDM’s next Financial Officer. Matthew Gellel is also very likely to join SDM’s executive.
With all this in mind, we wish both organisations a fruitful year both in academic terms and in their respective executive boards.
