Interview with Venere’s winner, Sarah Zerafa

A short interview with the winner of this year’s edition of Venere, Sarah Zerafa.

How would you describe yourself in 3 words?

Outgoing, fun and caring.

What motivated your interest in modelling?

My motivation essentially began when I was still around 10 years of age, always being eager to watch "America’s Next Top Model’s latest episode. I also remember wearing my mum’s high heels around the house, pretending I’m on a catwalk. Then, at around the age of 13, I shot my first commercial, which led me to my first appearance on a billboard. I have to say, that really gave my career a head start. I started taking part in various local adverts and photographers started taking more notice of me through Facebook. This inspired me to continue learning to become more professional in photo modeling. Last year I also took part in an international commercial and participated in Fashion Week…now, I am the winner of Venere 2015.

Which modelling experience to date do you consider to be the most valuable?

Without any doubt, it has to be winning this year’s edition of Venere, as this was always one of my main goals. Along with this, I have to include taking part in an international advert for "’San Disk’’ and promoting a campaign against domestic violence.

What was your initial reaction when winning this year’s edition of Venere?

My initial reaction? Screaming with joy, of course! It was a very close competition between the other model and I, but thanks to everyone who voted, I succeeded in winning.

What are your aspirations for the future?

As difficult as it may sound, my ultimate dream has to be to take my modeling career abroad. Besides modeling, I also intend to graduate in Creative Media Production and later on find a job in this field of work.
