How to Pamper Yourself for Prom

I love this time of year! Spring begins, the weather gets hotter, the day last longer and it’s the season of the highlight of the scholastic year: Prom. I don’t know about you but I’m really excited about it! After all, what’s not to like about dressing up, getting done up and dancing the night away with your friends?

The prom contestant campaigns are one of the highlights of every year’s prom. Every contestant tends to have a team with him or her who produce these hysterical videos, and usually the one with the funniest video wins the title.

The ladies are on a hunt for the perfect prom dress by this time and everyone goes to Sliema to see what’s in stores. Let’s just say that in times like these many girls wish that they were guys just so that they would not have this hassle. Here I have a list on how you can prepare for the special night (thank me later). Prepping your body before prom is important, but another important thing to plan out before hands is what to put in the purse you’re using. Chances are, you’ll be using a tiny clutch or bag much smaller than your everyday purse, so it’s important to prioritize what to keep and what to leave — trust me, no one wants to carry around a bag at prom that’s stuffed within an inch of its life! To help you prioritize, I’ve come up with a 5 must-bring items that make the cut:

Blotting paper

Skip the bulky powder compact and bring these lifesavers instead. Just make sure to blot, not wipe! If you’ve somehow forgotten them, rip off a small piece of the toilet seat covers found in most bathrooms and use that instead — I know it sounds weird, but it will get you through in a pinch!

Lip-gloss

If I had to pick between bringing lipstick and lip gloss, I would go with the gloss — it’s way easier to apply and won’t accidentally smudge and get all over your face.

Bobby pins

A lot of you will have gorgeous, fancy up-dos — don’t let them go to waste! Keep any stray curls in place with bobby pins.

Gum

Stick a couple sticks of gum in your purse to make sure your breath stays fresh throughout the night. Your date will thank you.

The must-haves

Remember to bring cash and the ticket too.

I help that these tips will help you get pampered for prom. Otherwise, just have fun and dance the night away! This night will not only serve as a last chance for the second year students to be with each other, but also as a night were we unite together, regardless of our different opinions and enjoy a memorable night together. Let’s make it a hell of a night!
