Here’s this year’s Million Dollar Idea!

This weekend, ICTSA- ICT Students’ Association hosted the 6th edition of The Million Dollar Idea. The Million Dollar Idea is a start-up competition open to participants from any academic background. This year’s event took place at The Hub Workspace, San Ġwann, from Friday 6 April till Sunday 8 April.

The Guzzlers were the winners of this year’s event, and went home with €500 cash prize sponsored by E-Skills Malta Foundation, 1 Year free membership from Takeoff Business Incubator, 20 hours of IT consultancy and Technical Support and 20 hours of Business Development by E-Business Systems, 50 hours of Software Development from Agilis I.T. Solutions & Training Malta. Not the mention, 20 hours of UI/UX Assistance by ICON.

The runners up, LYF, also went home with a €300 cash prize, partly sponsored by Konnekt.

The weekend started off with 3 workshops presented by Dr Conrad Attard, Dr. Ing. Anton Bartolo and Ms Anamaria Magri Pantea, who helped the participating students build the skills required to create a business to support their idea. The second day was dedicated to developing the teams’ idea with the guidance of professional mentors from various fields.

After two full days, the students then presented their finalised product to a panel of judges. The judges for this year’s event were Dr Adrian Francalanza, Dr. Nathaniel Massa , Mr Carmel Cachia, Mr Matthew Caruana, Dr. Ing. Anton Bartolo and Mr Ian Castillo.
