GUG urges for the revival of the Gozo University Campus. The Student organisation believes that the Gozo University Campus situated in Xewkija Gozo, is always being put aside when it comes to development and progress of Maltese Educational Institutions.
The University premises situated in Gozo, is a resource that is not being exploited to its full potential. Currently, it is being used for a limited number of courses offered on a part-time basis and as a place where Gozitan Students attending a course at the University of Malta sit for their exams.
GUG believes that their could be investments where such campus would cater also for day time courses, hence being active also during the day. Full time studies focusing on sustainability, agricultural land and it’s uses are topics which would be ideally addressed and promoted at the Gozo University Campus to those who would like to further their studies in this sector. Niche courses, that are not yet offered at the University of Malta, could be implemented in such an investment and aimed at both Maltese and foreign students.
GUG believes that investments in the educational sector are never a waste of time or money and would only be a benefit for our economy, especially Gozo’s economy and it’s residents. Such initiative would also reflect in further jobs in Gozo and an increased income for the University of Malta.
