GUG President Resigns

A student, who would like to remain anonymous, has revealed to The Third Eye that Gozo University Group (GUG) President, Jonathan Mintoff, has resigned.

In a letter sent to GUG, Mintoff expressed his dissatisfaction in the running of the executive, in which he felt his “position was rendered into a blackmail punching-bag where [his] rights were utterly violated.” This, he added, drove him “into a corner which [allowed him] no other decision but to tender [his] resignation.” In spite of his decision to resign, Mintoff stated that the decision was taken against his will.

When contacted by The Third Eye, Mintoff disclosed that he does not wish to reveal more information about the matter. However, he stated that he will not accept “being used like a puppet”.
