Fringes – Celebrating the Beauty of Imperfections

Where It All Began

‘Fringes’ was brought to life by a group of 38 third-year Bachelor of Communications students. The aim of this publication is to celebrate the authentic, the flawed, and the human. Furthermore, it is a celebration of those who keep true to their roots and completely oppose the pull of the mainstream.

This magazine, which will be published in May, will feature eight stories of unique individuals who dare to think outside the box.

Fringes’ Objective

Fringes celebrates the beauty of imperfection and going back to slow-living. In today’s fast-paced reality, we tend to get caught up in the rush of things and forget to be authentic, eccentric, and to see the world through a different lens. Fringes is a journey back to our roots and an appreciation of the simpler things in life.

Brand Values

The publication is built on four brand values: authenticity, eccentricity, passion, and imperfection. These values were chosen as there are several stories waiting to be told and many people who go unnoticed in the waves of pop culture. These people come from different backgrounds, have different stories and struggles, which is why Fringes has taken it upon themselves to give them the spotlight they deserve.

What can you expect from Fringes?

While the digital publication will be published on Wednesday 18 May, the team will be uploading podcasts, online stories, and playlists. All this is designed to bring participants into the world of Fringes!
