ESO Launches MSE Campaign

Last  Thursday, the European Studies Organisation (ESO) launched a new campaign called MSE, in short for Manifest, Suggest, Endorse, in light of the upcoming Presidency of the European Council, which shall be held in Malta during 2017.

The term MSE was brought up by ESO executive members themselves, aiming to find the best way possible to identify the campaign, by using these three keywords. Manifest refers to the fact that ESO will be manifesting the events linked with this campaign, the students are to suggest their opinion and ideas on the relevant topics discussed, and as a result, following the first two, the substance which is expected to result from this campaign, shall be endorsed through a social policy paper, addressed towards the concerned entities and parties.

Through the MSE Campaign, ESO executive members will be organising various events, such as debates, talks, and information sessions amongst others. The events will be open for anyone who is interested, particularly for those students who are in studying in courses, which have to do in any way with the EU Presidency. Each event will be uploaded on the MSE Facebook page; therefore those who are interested are encouraged to stay tuned with this page. The campaign shall take place from January 2017 until May of the same year, covering the major issues that shall be discussed during Malta’s Presidency, such as Maritime, Sustainable Development and Enlargement.

The primary objective of this campaign is to involve all students in Malta, most of all those students who are reading a course in European Studies. ESO’s role is not limited to student representations, but also to act on ongoing affairs and most importantly being proactive. Therefore, ESO shall strive to keep students updated with what is happening in Malta in the coming year and maintain a close lens on Malta’s Presidency of the Council of Europe.
