In anticipation of Europe Day, the annual celebration held on the 9th of May, the European Students Organisation (ESO) shall be holding a number of debates this week, which events will be tackling different issues regarding the European Union.
The first debate which is going to be held tomorrow is in collaboration with G?aqda Studenti tal-Ligi (G?SL), and shall be discussing the topic of terrorism within Europe. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, together with the Association of Students of Commercial Studies (ASCS), the topic to be discussed is the economic situation of the European Union. Following that, another collaboration debate will be held on Thursday, this time with Youth For The Environment (Y4TE), the topic being the European environment. The fourth and final debate will be held on Friday and is going to be in collaboration with We Are — The University of Malta LGBT Society and Insite, with the topic of LGBT’s being the main theme.
Speaking to The Third Eye, ESO President Martina Micallef announced that this is the biggest event for ESO, since their main focus is on European Affairs. “We have picked topics where every individual will be interested in and is able to voice his or her opinion,” concluded Micallef.
All the debates throughout this week will be commencing at 12:00 in front of the library area.
