Although things should never be taken lightly, it is no secret, that currently University of Malta Futsal are in a good form and their hard work is showing in the results.
Having gathered nine points in the three consecutive matches against Marsascala, Zurrieq and Tarxien, some were still not convinced that a group of University Students could really mean business in futsal. And in which way can you prove that you really mean business, if not by winning the derby? And thus last Monday, the UoM Futsal won the derby as well, with the margin of 6-5.
Now tonight, another opponent is waiting for UoM Futsal, Qrendi, and although on paper it might appear like an easier fixture, Qrendi are equally hungry for points.
When interviewed by The Third Eye, UoM Futsal player Rodney Debono emphasised that in tonight’s match should not be compliant in tonight’s encounter.
“We should always aim to get the maximum amount of points, irrelevant of who our opponents are”
“I am hoping that tonight we’ll go on the pitch with the same attitude and aggression with which we faced Msida last week,” pointed out Debono. “Each game carries three points and we should always aim to get the maximum amount of points, irrelevant of who our opponents are.”
“We are in a good form currently and it is evident that the hard work of the past seasons is finally paying off,” concluded Debono.
The UoM Futsal shall be facing Qrendi tonight at 20:00 at Corradino Sports complex, with new player Freddie Mifsud expected to make his debut.
