If you’re a fan of snapchat, I can safely say that you haven’t been using the application only for self-destructing photos. Most of us have made use of the application to send a message, rather than a photograph, at least once. We find ourselves taking photos of the ceiling or floor to send an, unfortunately very short, message that will disappear once it is read. The notion of an ephemeral message seems to be appealing to, dare I say, everyone.
Most of us have found ourselves in the position of wanting to say something but fearing we will regret it soon after. Confide now enables users to send longer messages that will disappear after being read. The application has more to offer. Just as snapchat users are notified when their pictures are saved, Confide also alerts their users when a print screen of their message has been taken. It gets better! A screenshot of the message will not reveal much. Messages are read by swiping over the text; the entire message is not displayed at once. Thus, a screenshot will only reveal a minimal amount of characters or words.
Confide further offers the possibility of sending email messages without the concern of having them forwarded by the recipient.
The application is now available for Android and iOS users. Finally, we can live without the fear of having our texts come back to haunt us!
