During today’s conference, which was organsied by Betapsi at Skyparks, the theme chosen is that of addiction, with the title being "Addiction 360’.
While the conference is still underway and a team from The Third Eye is present at the conference, a member of The Third Eye approached Betapsi President, Valeriya Bonkova and asked her a couple of questions regarding the issue of addiction.
“Addictions are a lot more common than we actually think they are,” started the Betapsi President. “And although this problem is all around us, unfortunately it is still a taboo topic.”
“Even in the Psychology course, although we’re supposed to be trained to become future psychologists, we don’t discuss addictions as much as we should.
“Personally I believe, that despite being a very complex topic, there is a lot of help available, more than we sometimes are bound to think
“Through today’s conference we want to establish how psychological help can be provided. Moreover there are different fields which could be included such as law and criminology, because they all go hand in hand with the topic,” explained Bonkova.
“It’s a good thing that you see a positive turnout for such event, which although being set up by students, is being organised in a very professional manner,” concluded Bonkova.
