5 Things Maltese Students Miss Most When Studying Abroad

Whilst many students are enjoying the last few weeks of summer before gearing up for yet another scholastic year, others are currently packing up for the adventure that awaits them at a foreign University.

Meanwhile, there are those who are already far from home and are experiencing student life in a way that is different to what they’ve grown accustomed to at the University of Malta.

Here are the top five things that we think Maltese students studying abroad would pack with them, if they could.

5. 4am Pastizzi at Serkin

Irrespective of how unhealthy local traditional pastizzi are, you cannot really say no to te fit-tazza and a half dozen of pastizzi. This is definitely what most of us crave in the early hours of the morning, just after a night of clubbing!

4. Paceville

Well, it’s true that there are many other good places around the world to party and let loose, but Paceville will always be the go to place for a random night out. Those stairs, the clubs (what’s left of them) and the people you meet; it all just blends perfectly together, creating an irreplaceable atmosphere and memories that you won’t remember the next morning.

3. Sound Salon Fridays

Surely, Friday night and Sound Salon have become synonymous to the majority of students in Malta, landing Sound Salon Fridays to the third spot on our list. There’s no question these nights are missed when students are not in Malta! Keep reading to the end to find out how we can help you get free entry to this week’s Sound Salon.

2. Pre-Drinks in Car Parks

Whatever the event, pre-drinks in the carpark right before the party is a must. Considered as a serious warm-up to the night, few things are more indulging than being part of this local social phenomenon. If you take a few seconds to stop and watch, it’s amusing to see the range of alcohol that pops out from the boots of students’ cars.

1. Campus Life

Naturally taking the number one spot, life on campus is undoubtedly what most students eagerly wait for towards the end of summer. Whilst we’re sure foreign Universities are great too, we’re sure they still lack those special elements that make the University of Malta campus life the best!

The Third Eye and Sound Salon want to make sure you enjoy what’s left of summer! That’s why we’re putting the names of 5 lucky readers and their guest of choice on the Guest List for this week’s Sound Salon.
