5 Reasons Why ISIS are Keeping Away from Malta

During the past few months or so, an ongoing fear from ISIS has been felt all throughout Europe, and Malta is obviously no exception.

Being a geographic link between Europe and Africa, it may sound reasonable that many Maltese citizens are petrified of the arrival of the extremist terrorist group on our Islands.

However, despite being praiseworthy from a touristic perspective, many factors with which our tiny Islands are attributed might not be the most welcoming for the Islamic Terrorist Group.

1.   Daily Traffic Headache

If one had to produce a list of the serious problems that ISIS would face in Malta, traffic would definitely rank amongst the top three, as it is evident that it is one of the problems that could never be solved in Malta. Conquering Europe would be a less time-consuming task for ISIS than travelling around Malta during the rush hour.

2.   Public Transport Issues

Having been mocked even by foreign newspapers during the Arriva period, one must not exclude that ISIS members are not looking forward to spend minutes, if not hours on stages staring at a time-schedule which has absolutely no link with the time that the buses actually arrive.

3.   Xarabank’s Mandatory Invitation

Euronews and CNN might be a long way from getting an interview with ISIS members, but there’s no doubt that the instant that they lay one foot on our Islands, through some means, ISIS members would be invited for a debate on the Friday-night discussion program. Their greatest issue would probably be that long before they have explained themselves, they would be interrupted by Peppi, the presenter, for a "quick break’.

4.   Receiving a Political Label

In our country, politics hold a huge weight and it would be of no shock if ISIS members were to be requested by the Nationalist Party to get them out of the financial burden, or maybe portrayed prominently on some Malta Labour Party billboard, in the next General Elections.

5.   Spring Hunting Stand

Probably, they don’t give a damn about birds and much less about hunters. But once they get to Malta, they would have no alternative but saying what their position about spring hunting is, which either way would lead them to make more enemies.
