19-Year-Old Victim of Pickpocketing In Nightclub

Yesterday appeared to be a normal Sunday night out for Maria, until she reached inside her handbag and she noticed that her mobile had gone missing.

The 19-year-old girl, who is also in her second year of the Nursing Course at  the University of Malta, was enjoying a night out with her friends in a popular club in Spinola Bay.

Maria claimed that after being in the club for less than an hour, at about ten in the evening, she was sending a text message beside the DJ stand and she then placed her mobile phone inside her handbag before walking towards the bar to purchase a drink.

It was at that moment that to her utter shock, Maria discovered that her mobile had been snatched from her handbag as she found her handbag unzipped.

“That mobile phone meant a lot to me,” explained Maria. “Apart from the money which I spent buying it, it also had photos of me with my grandparents, which for me have a priceless sentimental value!”

A few moments later, Maria filed a report at Spinola’s Police Station.

Maria’s mobile is gold-colour, with a transparent cover with stars on it.

While condemning this act, The Third Eye encourages anyone who has any information about this case and similar cases to disclose such information to the Police authorities.
